Testimonials

I feel fortunate to have such great clients! Here is what some of them have to say about working with me.

What People Are Saying

If you’re fortunate enough to work with Ted Guice, you’ll not only benefit from a knowledgeable and thoughtful personal trainer, you’ll also discover one genuinely nice, caring guy filled with a contagious energy that would make most twenty-somethings envious!

The day I called Ted to schedule my initial consultation marked a truly low point in my life. Having turned to my favorite coping mechanism — comfort food therapy — to deal with a number curveballs life threw my way, I found myself out-of-shape and depressed. After a ‘come to Jesus’ meeting with my naked reflection and a bathroom scale the previous morning, I knew that “my way” just wasn’t working. While ashamed, embarrassed and nervous leaving that first message on Ted’s voicemail, I had, without being conscious of it, made a tremendously positive step toward a happier and healthier lifestyle.

Within about four minutes of meeting with Ted face-to-face, his empathetic and caring nature became inescapable. The need to apologize for what I had become was soon replaced by a path forward — a realistic, comprehensive, pragmatic plan to achieve my vision of optimal health — a road I knew I wasn’t going to have to travel alone.

If I have to pick only one thing that I love about Ted and his approach toward our workouts, it has to be his ability to listen and plan workouts/nutritional advice accordingly. As a naturally stocky guy who puts muscle on easily, personal trainers in the past always seemed obsessed with bulking me up — and admittedly, twenty plus years ago, I happily played the willing victim! At forty-one however, my priorities and body had changed. With fifty pounds to loose and a torn brachial plexus injury from changing a car battery (yes, you read that right…sigh), I was focused on slimming down, learning how to avoid aggravating my shoulder injury and maintaining existing muscle. Ultimately, Ted taught me how to listen to my body and work out smarter.

It’s without hesitation that I recommend Ted’s services to anyone looking to raise the bar on their personal fitness and lifestyle goals.

As a result of his training, guidance and support, I not only slimmed down and built muscle, but have actually defied the aging process and turned back the clock.

It’s rare when one encounters an individual who is not only a subject expert and exceptionally gifted in his field, but also a charismatic and endearing gem. Ted’s optimism and energy are motivators in a venue where one is often pushed out of their comfort zone. Ted’s G-Force Workout aka known as “boot camp” classes are unique, action packed and results driven. I am grateful to have crossed paths with him– this trainer has put me on an active, healthy and enjoyable path!

As I segued into my 50’s, I saw my body change and realized I needed to make a concerted effort to remain active and agile. Ted Guice made that happen for me. As a result of his training, guidance and support, I not only slimmed down and built muscle, but have actually defied the aging process and turned back the clock. In a nutshell, Ted has given me back my youth and I am very grateful.

My transformation is nothing short of remarkable. With Ted’s training and nutritional guidance I have gained at least fifteen pounds of muscle, yet my pants still fit! I really can’t say enough nice things about Ted. He has turned out to be not only my trainer, but my friend.

As a former aerobics instructor and runner with thirty-five years of weight training experience, I thought that I pretty much knew everything I needed to know about working out and that I didn’t need a personal trainer. But after realizing that I had hit a plateau last year, I decided to give personal training a try. There were a number of trainers at World gym to choose from, but since I had met Ted socially and found him to be such a nice man I decided to go with him. It was one of my smarter decisions!

Our first session was a ‘get acquainted’ meeting where we assessed my current status and discussed my goals. We also discussed my numerous health issues and limitations, and from those discussions Ted devised a plan. Even with all my years of gym experience I am constantly amazed with the new and varied types of exercises that Ted has me doing. I’ll admit that I am not always open to new things, but Ted has the knowledge and skills to get me motivated. After almost a year with Ted, I can see that he gets results and I have developed a great deal of trust in what he says.

During the course of the year we have also discussed nutrition and body composition. As a former overweight child, I had serious residual weight and body image issues. I was extremely concerned about the possibility of gaining weight and was overly focused on the number on the bathroom scale. Ted taught me that in order to build muscle I was going to have to eat, and that we were going to focus more on body composition and not worry about the scale. I’m sure I was quite a challenge for Ted and frankly, while I wouldn’t say that those issues are completely behind me, with Ted’s knowledge and encouragement, and yes, some nagging, I have a much healthier outlook in this regard!

My transformation is nothing short of remarkable. As a former fatty I am my own worst critic so I’m not going to tell you how good I think I look because of Ted. However, I will tell you that there have been numerous friends, acquaintances, and people I don’t even know giving me so much positive feedback that even I am starting to believe it! With Ted’s training and nutritional guidance I have gained at least fifteen pounds of muscle (I’m fifteen pounds over my weight watchers goal weight) yet my pants still fit!

I really can’t say enough nice things about Ted. He has turned out to be not only my trainer, but my friend. I truly enjoy our time together and would recommend him to anyone looking for a trainer.

It was hard work to achieve my goals—intensely so at times—but it was worth the time and focused effort that I spent with Ted as my personal trainer. In working together for those nine months, I went from 172 pounds to an ending weight of 195 pounds of solid, lean muscle mass!

After two years of triathlon training and ten triathlons completed, I had a very lean, ‘cut up’ body and weighed 172 pounds. Some injuries stopped me in my tracks and I made the decision to pack on twenty pounds of muscle through weight training. Working at World Gym Palm Springs, I know many of the personal trainers. After observing the clients who were getting results with their particular trainer, I chose Ted!

As my personal trainer, he was professional and very knowledgeable about the human body and nutrition. Our first meeting consisted of discussing my goals with weight training, as well as some physical limitations that I had. We also discussed my daily nutritional intake and my commitment to the process in attaining my goals. I could tell it was a match from that meeting!

I chose to work with Ted twice weekly, combining our sessions with two more independently. In nine months of training with him, I was able to achieve my goal, packing on twenty pounds of lean muscle mass. This occurred as a result of my commitment to my goals, the always-challenging workouts with Ted, and my consistent effort to eat the increased amount of protein I required every day. I also included many of the exercises from Ted’s G-Force Workout to complement and enhance my independent workouts.

Ted is a great trainer…and I recommend him!

My husband Rod & I have been participants in Ted’s G-Force Workout classes for quite some time. We started taking Ted’s class because both of us had hit a plateau in our training and were having difficulty achieving our fat loss goals. Not only did we both push past the plateau, but we also found Ted’s class fun, inspirational and highly motivating.

Ted is an outstanding instructor. His knowledge and skills are very obvious and demonstrated in his class. He always has a smile on his face, a great attitude and endless encouragement for everyone, no matter what level of fitness you’re currently at.

We’ve been fine-tuned by taking his class and watched many of the other participants also realize terrific results because of Ted’s high intensity, yet fun, class routine. We tell Ted that he’s our drug of choice because when we aren’t able to make his class we feel the withdrawals!

We look forward to our weekly classes with Ted to keep us focused, motivated and on track to ensure that we stay as fit and healthy as possible. In fact, our own children in their mid-thirties and grandchildren can’t seem to keep up with us anymore.

Ted’s class is great for people of all ages and fitness levels. We’re both so glad we stumbled in. It has changed our body composition, given us more strength and energy, and brought a very special person into our lives who shares our common passion of health, vitality and fitness.

I feel very fortunate to know and work with Ted; his genuine warmth and enthusiasm make his class a high point of the day. I cannot recommend him highly enough!

One day about a year ago, a friend invited me to Ted’s G-Force Workout. I was a little intimidated about it at first because I thought I would have to be a triathlete just to show up. What I found was a supportive environment, lots of fun music, people ranging in age from late twenties to mid-seventies and a great workout led by Ted Guice.

I was already in good shape, but I’ve been attending ever since that first class and I definitely see results: I’m stronger, I’m leaner, I’m exercising different parts of my body, and I’m having a lot of fun with new friends. Ted’s indomitable spirit and his sense of humor set the tone for an hour of hard work and exercise in a way that makes me keep coming back.

Ted monitors our progress, encourages us, and helps us to get the most out of the hour. I feel very fortunate to know and work with Ted; his genuine warmth and enthusiasm make his class a high point of the day.

Recently, Ted and I have started to work out together. He asks about my goals, what I do already in the gym, what my diet is like, and we talk about goals and body image. He does not sugarcoat issues: his appraisal of what I need to do and how I need to do it are honest and sensitive. The energy and enthusiasm I see in his G-Force Workout are there for our one-on-one workouts too. We work hard but we have fun. I cannot recommend him highly enough!

I have had several personal trainers of the years and can comfortably say that Ted is far and away the most effective. He got me to fitness goals in three months that previous trainers hadn’t managed to in years.

I discovered Ted Guice by accident, listening in while he trained another client. He talked about many of the fitness challenges that he had personally experienced and how he uses those experiences to motivate and counsel his clients. In addition, Ted just sounded like a nice guy!

After starting with Ted, I quickly learned that his experience and knowledge are also matched by his interest in ensuring that his clients are doing all that they can to meet their declared fitness goals. Every session begins with questions about how your day has been, how you are feeling and what you have eaten that day. All of these questions are asked with a genuine display of interest and friendship.

I have had several personal trainers of the years and was even a trainer myself briefly. I can comfortably say that Ted is far and away the most effective. He got me to fitness goals in three months that previous trainers hadn’t managed to in years. He doesn’t bully clients (unless they need that kind motivation!) and is always kind, professional and a pleasant person to spend time with. He is not only an extremely popular trainer, but also an extremely popular person.

He provided the nutritional information that I needed, plus the motivation, and helped me surpass my previous training benchmarks.

I was in transition from training after having relocated to Palm Springs. In the past I had worked with personal trainers for over six years, five days a week. I joined World Gym, accessed my options and watched the trainers interact with their clients. I took about three weeks to analyze their style and commitment. It was quite apparent that Ted was a match!

I started within a week and was right back on track from where I had left off. He provided the nutritional information that I needed, plus the motivation, and was able to help me meet my personal goals. He has a great personality and is reliable and honest. He encouraged me to resume my previous cardio workout and helped me surpass my previous training benchmarks.

It’s now eighteen months later—and I’m still growing!

Ted is an amazing man. Combine that with his zest for life, knowledge and true desire to help people and you can see what makes him such an incredible success as a Personal Trainer, Coach and Nutrition Guide.

I’ve known Ted as a customer for about six years. We’re about the same height, close to the same age, and I’ve always admired his physical appearance. It was easy to appreciate the commitment that he must have in order to keep himself so fit. Could I have that?

Although I’d always been physically active and worked out about four times a week, I just wasn’t seeing or getting the results that I wanted. So about a year ago I asked Ted if he would train me. The very next week I had my intake appointment.

Ted asked me questions about my eating and sleeping habits, how I spent my free time and so on. Afterwards, we hit the floor. Ted used the thirty minutes left in my session to assess the amount of weight I could lift with proper form and how my body responded to it. Form is one of the major keys to preventing injury and building muscle. “Work smarter not harder,” Ted always says.

A major key was my nutrition. During our next three weeks, Ted drilled into me the importance of what types and amounts of food to eat as well as how often I would need to eat them in order to grow into the body that I wanted. After just two months, I could really see the results that Ted had said were possible. Ted’s knowledge of the body, how all the muscle groups work together, and his incredible ability to communicate with his clients is unsurpassed.

Also early in my training, Ted asked about my aerobic exercise. I kind of chuckled, which got a frown from him. He told me how heart health is the result of both nutrition and aerobic exercise that works for me as an individual. I’m not one for the treadmill or other equipment. I just don’t like them. Ted suggested that I come and try out his G-Force Workout.

I’ll tell you that once the class began I started to wonder if I could make it all the way through. It’s fifty minutes of non-stop, high-energy exercise combined with weights. Attending G-Force has allowed me to lean out my torso, burn that unwanted tire around my waist and improve my endurance. I have made G-Force one of the top priorities in my workout regime.

Ted is an amazing man. Combine that with his zest for life, knowledge and true desire to help people and you can see what makes Ted Guice such an incredible success as a Personal Trainer, Coach and Nutrition Guide. My life is better. I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been. You can be too!
